About

I am fully alive when searching mountain trails hoping for the perfect convergence of light and form that might arrest my eye. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it is a surprise and delight. I am always excited to share those attendant emotions through my photography.

My best work (according to me) is a modern art piece that engages from afar. When the viewer moves in to discover the technique, the work reveals itself to be a photographic interpretation of the very real natural world. The photograph can be two completely different works depending on the distance surveyed.

My publication credits include Outdoor Photographer and National Geographic, and my work has been awarded recognition by the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. While I certainly appreciate these honors immensely, the real reward is when an individual gets my work. When they do, I like to think they would also get something of me.
